Information for Under 25's
Most car hire providers have rules and regulations regarding the minimum age for hiring a car with them. Each car hire provider differs on their age requirements so you should really check with them how old you need to be to hire a car with them. Most car hire providers will let you hire a car if you are aged over 21 but other will require you are over 25. The type of vehicle you are permitted to hire also depends on your age. For example, you may not be able to hire a 4 x 4 or prestige car unless you are over the age of 30. Your car hire provider should inform you of this at the time of booking as you will have to inform them of your age before you finalise your car hire booking.
As a young driver you may find you are charged an additional fee on your hire which is referred to in your policy as a Young Driver’s Surcharge. This charge is added purely for the reason you are a young driver and therefore more of a high risk driver. The fee is added per day and varies for your destination country and provider. It is usually charged for drivers aged under 25. You can find car hire providers who do not have young driver’s surcharge.
If you are a student aged over 19 you can hire a car with Hertz and get student discounts. Please note you will still have to pay a young driver’s surcharge with Hertz if you are aged under 25, even if you have student discount.
Documents Needed
To hire a car at Bristol Airport you will need to present the following upon arrival at the airport:

- The paper counterpart of your driving license
- Another proof of identification such as your passport.
- Vaild credit card
Photocopies of any part of your license or identification will not be permitted. Failure to produce these documents will result in the termination of your car hire so do not forget them. When you hire a car there are a few things you should do to avoid unnecessary charges at the end of your rental.

Finally you should return your vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when you received it. Usually, car hire providers will not include fuel in the booking price, therefore they will charge you if you return the vehicle empty.
